I have never been too enthusiastic about celebrating my birthday. From a really young age, it was never a very big deal. This weekend was no exception. My mother had surgery on Friday, filling my weekend with hospital visits and trying to keep her in good spirits. It is her birthing weekend celebrations as well and I believe that our mother’s should be celebrated for such things, regardless of what kind of relationship the two of you have, they brought you into this world and those moments should celebrated and they should be in your thoughts.
My celebrations on this day will consist of being worshiped (which is always wonderful), lunch with some friends, karate with my boy and a visit with some tasty dessert with my mother. It seems like a perfect celebration, other than the venue for my visit with mom.
